Food Diary

One of my first assignments for school is to keep a seven day food journal. It sounds easy, but if you've done this before, you know it's not. Writing down everything you eat/drink for seven days reminds us to slow down, and think about what you're putting into your body. I admire the people that do this well. I've decided to blog daily about what I eat/drink, when I exercise, and how I feel. I'll post a summary at the end of the week.

DAY ONE
Exercise: ~45 minutes run/walk outside
Breakfast: Smoothie with banana, blueberries, orange-mango juice, unsweetened coconut, cinnamon, 1 tsp flax, and walnuts on top with water to drink.
Mood: Tired from run, but felt great after water & smoothie.
Mid-morning snack: 2 cups of chai/white tea blend with agave nectar and small handful of walnuts.
Lunch: Red leaf lettuce, carrots, cucumber, red cabbage, peppers with tahini dressing  & cold rice salad with cucumber, cauliflower, roasted garlic, parsley, rice vinegar & lemon. Water.
Mood: Didn't fill up on lunch. I was starving during movie.
Snack: Carob spirulina chunks, brazil nuts, banana. Water.
Dinner: Black bean cakes with cheese and salsa, a small salad and a handful of tortilla chips. Water.
Mood: Full, too much sodium from the chips.

*I'm trying to reduce my dependence on coffee, so I didn't have any today. Of course, I battled a headache most of the afternoon.
